Mama Sitz Bath

Fat and the Moon

Mama Sitz Bath

$30.00

Mama Sitz Bath is a sacred herbal soak: a time-honored ritual to honor and restore the postpartum body with tenderness and reverence. This nourishing blend of myrrh, lavender, chamomile, comfrey, witch hazel, and white willow is crafted to soothe, repair, and support tissue regeneration for the yoni after birth. Rooted in the wisdom of our foremothers, the practice is simple and profound: steep the herbs, pour into a warm basin, and allow your most tender parts to rest in a bath of botanical comfort. A daily act of devotion for mamas in healing...because you deserve to be cared for as deeply as you care.

16oz

Lavender (Lavandula)*, Comfrey (Symphytum)*, Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)*, Witch Hazel Leaf (Hamamelis)*, White Willow Bark (Salix alba)*, Myrrh gum powder (Commiphora myrrha)*

*Organic

Add three tablespoons of the Mama Sitz herbs and add it to a quart-sized jar. Fill the jar with boiling water and let the herbs steep for a minimum of half an hour. Steeping overnight is ideal. You can gently rewarm the tea before use.

Add the strong tea to a warm, shallow bath (enough water to submerge your yoni). Add a ¼ cup of sea salt to the tub —sitz for 20 plus minutes. Continue this practice once a day for a month.

Founded by herbalist Rachel Budde, Fat and the Moon is a reflection of her earth-centric values. Fat and the Moon, at its core, is about healing, and healing is reflected in the way the Fat and the Moon team chooses to do business, in intentional relationship with people and plants. They work with plants that are abundant, ethically harvested and organically cultivated, and combine them in formulations that are non-toxic. Their commitment is to use reusable and recyclable containers and to minimize superfluous packaging. Each product is handmade and hand shipped, under one roof. The products they make are collaborations with tried and true medicinal plants that have been effective for generations. As an herbalist, Budde has a passion for plant bodies and human bodies. She sees the skin as the organ of our edge: the place where we meet the world. Our edges are the places we grow and change. Her purpose in birthing Fat and the Moon is to provide intentionally made potions to support that fertile edge.
